How can you tell it’s summertime at AppDirect? It’s not just the longer days and warmer weather; it’s the new faces of our summer interns. This year, we’re happy to welcome our first full, official class of interns. These seven students, from the the US and Canada, joined this week and will be with the team through August.
During the 10-week program, our interns will be working directly with our engineering and sales teams to learn more about the development and deployment of our partner marketplaces. Over the course of their time here, they will have the chance to get a complete feel for our current projects and goals.
Victoria Li is joining us from MIT where she is majoring in electrical engineering and computer science. "This summer, I want to further hone my technical skills and learn a bunch of new things,” she says. “Hopefully, through my internship and conversations with the team, I'll also gain insight into different career paths I could take. The people I've met so far have been super helpful and welcoming."
Alex Rohrbach, who is studying finance and economics at McGill, will be working directly with our business development team. "Even for non-technical majors like mine, an understanding of the cloud industry won't just be useful, it will be required," he says.
In addition to Alex, Charles Desmarais is joining us as a business intern, while on the engineering side, Victoria is joined by Partha Mahajani and Stephen Hughes. In other departments, Tom Sun is working as a QA intern, while Calum Beedling is working as a marketing intern. We are excited to have these great students with us in San Francisco for the summer. They will offer us fresh perspectives and input on many cross-departmental projects.
