At last week's Under the Radar conference, the AppDirect team won both the Best in Show Audience Choice Award and the SMB Tools Audience Choice Award. "We are incredibly excited about this achievement and we would like to thank the judges, fellow presenters, the audience and the hosts – Deal Maker Media," says AppDirect President and Co-CEO Daniel Saks, who gave the presentation about AppDirect's business model at the conference. "The overwhelming vote of confidence from conference judges and attendees proves that there is clearly a need in the market for a seamless experience for businesses to find, buy and manage web-based applications."
Under the Rader is a prestigious annual event giving 30 selected startups the chance to pitch their product to the tech community, and potentially find new opportunities for business development. Judges in the SMB tools category, including Guy Philips, Head of Small Business at Visa and Charlie Di Bona, General Manager of Strategy at Microsoft, said they were particularly excited about AppDirect’s ability to intelligently recommend the most relevant applications based on a business’s specific needs. By being asked to present at the conference, App Direct joins an elite group of companies:
- In the past 3 years alone, companies hand-picked to present at the Under the Radar Conference have gone on to raise over $1.54 Billion;
- 67 percent have gone on to raise funding or be acquired;
- 21 percent have been acquired by companies such as Google, eBay, Microsoft, Yahoo and Cisco;
- Presenting companies raised an average of $10.3 million dollars
Beyond the awards, Under The Radar also provided the AppDirect team an incredible opportunity to connect with potential partners, developers and customers.
